Liftmaster Operators Capacitor 53-64 MFD, Can be used on all Liftmaster, Accessmaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman Garage Door Openers That Are 1/2 HP or Less. The capacitor is basically a battery that stores power and jump starts the electric motor when you press you wall station or remote transmitter. A good way to tell that you capacitor is bad or warn out is to see if the round seal close to the terminals is broke or if oil sprayed on the inside of the motor cover. A lot of times when the capacitor pops it sprays oil on the motor that is hot and it will smoke.
