Garage Cable – 3/32″ Torsion Spring Cable – 7FT
$12.75
Garage Door Red Cable
Description
7ft torsion spring cables are thinner and more flexible that the 1/8″ cables, the weight capacity is lower at 950 lbs, but is still more than substantial for a residential garage door. The main benefit is that the thinner diameter lessens the chance for the cables to rub as the garage door is opening for quieter operation. It is another good way to make your neighbor envious of your quiet garage door.
Garage door cables help to extend the life of extension and torsion springs by reducing tension. They also help your garage door operate more smoothly and can serve a safety net should a spring break. Properly functioning garage door cables can be the difference between a minor annoyance and a serious injury or worse.

I was kind of scared to replace my 1/8th with these but now I realized why these guys here sell them with confidence. Great cables. Great service with fast shipping. Installation was a breeze. I will order here again.

I believe this is the first time I find myself writing a review….
Kyle from the DIY store went the extra mile and spared me from paying additional $47 in 2nd day FedEx shipment once he realized that my urgent order was certainly not going to be any faster using FedEx, instead of USPS.
He switched me to USPS Priority mail, called to let me know, and managed to ship early enough on a Thursday AM so that I would get the parts on Saturday, in time to make the repairs over the weekend, without waiting for the following one and staying with a disabled garage door for another week. My credit card was also promptly refunded of the shipment cost difference.
On Monday I called Kyle and gave him my kudos for his outstanding customer service and for so patiently answering all my novice questions when I placed the order with DIY.
All parts I ordered were the correct ones and higher quality gauge steel/bearings.
These cable are indeed really quiet.

The product was the correct item and works smoothly, however this item was the only one kyle’s diy video did show details on installation. seems to function quieter with these cables.

On Dec 28th one of the cables broke on my garage door. I called a well known Garage Repair /installer who advertises on a local Toronto radio channel. I waited 7 hours and after a number of calls to their dispatcher no one showed up. I went on you-tube and found a video on repairing various garage door components . these were put on Youtube by Diy garage door parts and I followed the link to their website . I paid $49 dollars for two sets of cables, spring tools and some new coiling drums. The over the phone quote from the Toronto repair company was over $250.00 plus parts. I am glad they never showed up. Today January 12 I installed the cables and door works great. I highly recommend your products. Tero Tuononen Toronto Canada
