Raynor Garage Door began on October 17, 1944 in a small factory in Quincy, Illinois. It was started by two owners, Bill Norberg and Ray Neisewander, Norberg was a steel fabric specialist while Neisewander’s specialty was woodworking. By 1946, they moved to their current location in Dixon, Illinois and had over 150 employees. During the 50’s, Ray Neisewander, who was now the sole owner of the company, had pushed to have close responsive relationships with their dealers and grew to have dealers in 35 states of the US. During the 60’s, Raynor Garage Doors continued to grow and had double the sales they had the decade before. They also developed the Raylon fiberglass garage door which was built with an aluminum frame. By the 80’s, Raynor dealers could be found in 48 states, and the commercial industry took their steel garage door very strongly, while the residential industry took a little bit longer to catch on. During the 80’s, Raynor had produced the first steel door to look similar to the old wood doors produced many years before. This caught much of the residential industry's eye as many people did not want to change the look of their garage door, but also had the durability of a steel door. During the 90’s, Raynor set their sets to the international market and by the end of it, their products could be found in over 30 countries. At the present time, Raynor Garage Doors have over 800 distributors in the United States, 190 in Canada, and 60 distributors in 50 countries on 5 continents. With their 75 years of design experience, no other garage door brand can match their meticulous attention to detail and high quality doors. They manufacture steel non insulated doors, steel vinyl back insulated doors, steel back insulated doors, fiberglass doors, and wood carriage house doors.
